  • Can fall be around the corner?

I am ready for it. We had some fairly cool days recently and it was so nice. Now we will be getting the hot and muggies back again and I dread it.

My volunteer "job" is going well. I was on my own for the first time last Wednesday. It was a bit nerve wracking, but they all say I'm doing well, so I guess I am. I didn't go in last Tuesday because I didn't have a vehicle.

We did get another one in the meantime, because Kera uses my little Accent for her new job. We got a 94 Jimmy that Kev can use as his backup vehicle since he is a rural mail carrier and must use his own. He has a beat up 90 Blazer that he uses now (the beast). Since he drove the Jimmy, he loves it. So guess who'll get to use the beast except on her volunteer days? Yup, me! I guess it's okay. I do only travel five minutes to my current job, and the beast guzzles gas...

Our trip to Pam and Woody's was wonderful. The weather and the company were perfect. Here are pics if you care to have a look. I am the fat redhead (I call's um as I see's um!), my husband is the pleasant looking guy, my girls are Kera-the redheaded, blazingly fair skinned one and Kylie is the cute blond. Dewey Beach at Tower Road was the best. The time went by waaay too fast.

My last day of school was this past Tuesday. I'm gonna miss it! Now to find a real job in y new field...

It was nice having a long weekend. we went to my local sister's for a cookout on Saturday. It's so good to get together with my brothers and sister. We always enjoy each others company. And the food isn't half bad either. Hence the fat redhead! lol We just hung around the house Sunday because Kev's back was a little hurty, and today both of the girls went to the PA Renn Faire and we went for a nice, long ride. When we got home I took a nice nap!! What a perfect day.

Well, tomorrow it's back to the old routine. See y'all ...

  • from winter to summer

    Holy cow!!
I haven't blogged since forever and here we are in August!!

    Let's see what's happened...

My youngest daughter graduated from high school in June. A major hooray!! That whole issue was a huge, huge source of stress. We had issues going on, of course, but now that chapter has closed. Thank you God.

I have a maintained 4.0 GPA in school. I am proud of myself. I'm currently in my last class which I am enjoying enormously. Psychology. Too bad you need a Masters to even be a therapist. I could so see myself doing that, but alas... Today I became a volunteer for the hospital to begin my extern ship. This is supposed to lead to a job. Sooner than not, I'm praying. It has been horrendously hot here in south eastern PA. That means that it's been horrendously hot at work. Last Friday when I left work it was 96 INSIDE. For real. I am truly not exaggerating. Yes, it's literally a sweat shop.

My older daughter got a job!! She starts August 27th. Another major hooray. She and I have been going to school together but she's taking accounting. And now she's going to be an accountant!!

Our little fountain (more like a puddle) is so cute!! The birds absolutely love it. The sugar peas didn't make it. This is the first year since I can't remember when, that I don't have sugar peas. the bunnies just wouldn't leave them alone, and for some reason I just wasn't into it this year. We do have tomatoes, eggplant and some zucchini. The zucchini aren't doing that great either. They start to grow and then turn yellow and rot. We had some kohlrabi plants too. they came in early and Kev ate em up!!

I'm so thrilled about our little vacation/Pam visit!! We are leaving on Saturday. I can't wait to see her and Woody. AND I can't wait to feel that sand beneath my feet. Oh, it's like coming home. I could sit on the beach and just watch the ocean all day. Heaven on Earth.

Hmm what else...I can't think of anything!
I am kinda tired , so I'll see ya later.

  • yoo hoo...

Lol, I haven't been here in so long, I had to try three different passwords.
    Not much been going on.
LOVE the snow!! Really, what good is winter without it?
School is going well. I like Tuesdays. Word Processing I and Intro to Computers!! Woohoo!! Well, the intstructors for both classes are great. And I am actually learning new things! Believe it or not, I don't know everything! I'm shocked too.
I was even called about a job by a former instructor, but, alas, it's only part-time. At least my instructor thought of, and recommended me! This whole school business just might work out after all!

  • sick!

My baby is doing much better. She is dealing with her troubles in a mature way, and I am so proud of her!

I, on the other hand, am not doing so well. I started with the flu on Tuesday at work. I started out feeling so cold and exhausted. I told a kid that works with me that I was going to go home, make supper, and die! I got progressively worse as the evening went on. Today was the first day that I have felt even remotely human, rather than a big ball of massive traffic accident. So, of course I overdid it! I did call my doctor on Wednesday, as my sister-in-law the nurse told me to do. He called in a prescription for me for Tamiflu. I suppose it has helped, lol. I can't imagine how long this would last if I didn't take this medicine!
My family has been helpful for the most part. I guess with my husband I only get so many "sick days". I think, in his mind, I should be over this by now. I hope he doesn't get this, because if he does I will have to kill him. He is a typical male when he is sick. No one can possibly know how he feels because they have never known such an illness! On the other hand, a "sadistic" side of me hopes he does, so that he can know how crappy I really feel.
One good thing has come of this- I have lost about ten pounds! No, no, there is no intestinal thing going on. I just had no appetite. And when I did eat everything tasted weird! That part is getting better.
The worst part is that I have lost three days of work. Ouch, in a BIG way. Ah well, we'll get by. Don't we always? The Lord provides.

I think I'll go find something to eat...I'm hungry!
